Super Mario Galaxy Film Teaser Is Here, Introducing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. It was showcased in a special Nintendo Direct that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
The sequel to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will send Mario to the outer limits of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Beloved Titles
In the vein of the Wii console classics that serve as its inspiration, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, including the Luma, a popular character from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also includes nods to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Returns and Expands
The feature will welcome back of the original voice cast, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
A Significant Period for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is scheduled to arrive near the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for the upcoming year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
